1) I find QR codes very helpful when it comes to marketing. They are interesting and create some curiosity among the people viewing it. In addition to being free and easy to make, they are also somewhat interesting and fun to use, and result in some satisfaction for the customer when they are used correctly to find the advertised website.
2) A Hashtag is a term that refers to a label you can use on Twitter, one of the largest social media sites that claims to have 175 million accounts, (http://huff.to/l836KM),to label a post or link, so that when that topic is searched, the Hashtag with the closest relation to that search will be found and presented to the customer. Ex. #Marketing2Final. I used Hastags to promote my blog by posting the link to my blog on Twitter, and using a related Hastag to identify and label my blog, so that anyone searching for something related to my blog on twitter will see my blog's link when they search for the Hashtag.
3) A blog is a personal site, like a journal, that other people can read, follow and comment on from online. Each blog has a certain topic and posts about that topic for the audience to read. If the blog is popular enough, Google can even advertise through it, making you some money if you have enough viewers.
4) Twitter does limit you to only having 140 characters per tweet, which I think is enough to create a feeling of curiosity among the people reading. If you can come up with something catchy or interesting, you can shorten a URL to use less space, and generate interest in your blog or whatever you may be advertising.
5) The word blog originated from a combination of two other words, Web Log or WeBlog, creating the term, Blog.
6) Bitly is an example of a website that shortens URls. You can copy and paste a URl and Bitly will shorten in to just a couple of characters, saving you space in places like Twitter, where you can only use 140 characters per tweet. Bitly was used to shorten the URL posted in question 2.
7) Blogs are made of many different things. First, there are blog posts, the main section of the blog. Also, there are gadgets you can add to the blog to make it more interesting, like a Logo or Search Box.
8) The "QR" in QR codes stands for Quick Response, meaning that the advertised product/service can be accessed quickly though a smart phone or computer, with the right software.
9) A blog list or blog roll is a tool used by the blogger to identify links or other blogs that he/she is interested in. This is helpful to the audience because if they like what the author wrote, then they could probably find some interest in what the author likes too.
10) The benefit of following someone on Twitter is to see what is going on with them, at almost any time. Also, they may even follow you back which allows you to advertise yourself or anything else to a wider audience, which means your posts could be re-Tweeted and become more popular.
